Gobble gobble gobble

Whew! I am so glad this day is nearly over. We had a huge crowd today. 34 people in fact. Holy cow it was loud and boisterous. There were no leftovers. Thank goodness.

After all of the kids were gone I pulled out two gingerbread houses. They were for my niece and nephew. They had a grand time decorating them. I did not get any pics (that I know of). Bummer.

I got my most recent (and favorite) magazine yesterday. It is the American Patchwork & Quilting. There is a full page ad in it that states that they are challenging the readers to make one million pillowcases that will be donated to local charities. I can make four or five in an afternoon so I think I am going to make as many as I can for Christmas.

Well, I am way tired and full. So, I am going to sign off for the night.

Take care.

And this little piggy

went to the beauty school for a pedicure. I loved it.

My friend Levi is going to come over for dessert on turkey day. I am so happy about that because we are really starting to build a good relationship.

I am cooking all day tomorrow so I can relax on Thursday.

I hope all of my friends have a good time too.

Moody Monday

I am struggling today with my mood. I feel very teary. There is no reason for it. Sigh.

I am getting ready to box up two quilts I am going to ship.

I need to wrap presents.

I also need to look for fall/Thanksgiving recipes that I can make this week and freeze.

I have therapy at 2:30. We shall see what comes of that.

Oh poo. Damn mood.

Busy busy bee

I have been so busy this weekend. I have made 34 more tissue holders, 4 baskets (travel trays) and counted my stash of yo yos. I have about 300. Those are going to be sewed together side by side to make a garland for the Christmas tree. I have been putting fabric on bolts. I have already put 100 yards on bolts. I need more bolts. It is so much easier to have the fabric on bolts.

I decided to make Chicken Broccoli Curry for dinner tonight. Yummy!

On Wednesday our friend Karen is coming over to sew for the evening. I am going to probably make more tissue holders or travel trays. I don't know yet. I could do the sewing of the yo yos. We shall see.

I still have piles of Christmas presents that need to be wrapped. I am so glad that I bought all my gifts so early in the year because I will be enjoying the season without running around like crazy like most other people.

I will write more later. I am going to do some pinning of more tissue holders.

Take care!

Goble Goble Goble

Today was a very full day. I went to BMS for Thanksgiving celebration. It was so nice to have someone else cook for me. The food was great and I got to visit with alot of people.

I got home about 1 o'clock. I called and talked to my mom for a while. They were done visiting with my sister in ND and were headed towards Sioux Falls for a meeting. They will be home tomorrow.

I had this idea of making pocket tissue holders. I first went into my studio and looked at all the fun novelty prints and a green print with bunches of different colored ladybugs on it and right next to that bolt was a bolt of bright orange fabric. Perfect!

I cut two 7" strips from both prints. Then cut those strips into 6.5" squares. So, I ended up with 12 blocks measuring 6.5" x 7" from each fabric.

The rest was assembly line work. Place one block from each print right sides together and sew along all sides of blocks with a 1/4" seam leave a two inch gap on the long side. Repeat for all blocks.

Turn blocks right sides out and then iron the blocks. Fold the block along the long side with the liner print facing out until both ends meet. Stitch a 1/8" seam on both ends. Turn the holder right side out on all blocks.

Tomorrow will be quite busy. My worker from BMS will be bringing my meds to me around 9:30 then I have my aide coming at 10:00, at noon I am going to get my hair done then off the Walmart to buy the pocket tissues to put in the holders.

The evening is getting long and I am getting tired so I will end this.

Take care.

i am waiting on my cleaning lady. she should be here in the next hour or so.

I will post pictures of the tissue holders when I have some done.

Oh my freakin' God

I just spoke with my dad and he told me that my youngest daughter who is only 18 is going to be shipped out to Afghanistan in a few months.

She is just a baby.

After a rough couple of years with my ex partner, my daughter decided to not have contact with me. It is hell on earth not being able to speak to her.

My heart just aches.

Funfetti

Funfetti is colorful sprinkles. That has been my day.

I couldn't fall asleep until the wee hours last night. Mom woke me up so I would be ready for when my case manager comes to get me.

On Tuesdays I go to BMS to get my blood drawn just to make sure my blood levels of one of my meds doesn't get too high.

After the bloodletting lol I went into the drop-in area and cut out the fabric for all of the candlemats my mom and I want to make. Tomorrow is sewing day. woohoo!

So, my day has been a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Funfetti.

My recent finishes

I am NOT

I am not an aunt jemima, ballbreaker, biker chick, bimbo, bitch, bombshell, bra burner, bull dyke, butch, call girl, carmen miranda, china doll, dumb blonde, fag hag, femme fatale, feminazi, geisha, girl next door, gold digger, good catholic girl, harem girl, ho, homegirl, hot tamale, indian princess, jewish princess, lady boss, lipstick lesbian, lolita, mother teresa, nympho, old hag, old maid, pinup girl, prude, slut, soccer mom, squaw, stage mom, supermodel, tokyo rose, tomboy, trophy wife, valley girl, vamp, wicked stepmother or yummy mummy!

Don't stereotype me!

One finish down...

Last night my mom finished the Christmas quilt for the silent auction at BMS. She took it with her to work to show it off. When she gets home I will take a pic of it and post it here.

After lunch I am going to cut the fabric for the first candle mat. It won't take anytime to sew it. I want it ready to show mom when she gets home.

I am not too sure on how many of these candle mats we will be making.

The fabric is gorgeous. It is a Hoffman red with gold all through it. Simply beautiful.

I need to call my dad in a bit. I have not spoken to him all weekend. He is a good father.

Well, I am off for a bit!

Drama begats more drama

Jeezus. I have been laying in bed for hours. Sleep is alluding me.

I think it is because I am forced to deal uber drama from my cousin and stepsister.

My cousin stole all my Christmas presents last year while I was in the hospital recovering from surgery. Now she wants to be invited for Thanksgiving. GRRRR I hate thieves.

My stepsister wants me to outright GIVE her my car. She is out of her freaking mind.

Fuckers.

Dumb Da Da Da Dumb

I think I may have lost my mind. That is the only explanation as to why I have spent the last two hours watching "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."

Good grief.

A whole bunch of nothin'

Today was a good day. I was stuck inside because of all the snow. Tomorrow I am going to post some pics of it. The plows finally came down my street. Let me just say that the plow drivers are not the smartest bunch of guys. Dumbasses.

I am tired tonight.

I ordered another 200 fabric yo-yos. I am going to sew them together to make a garland for my fireplace for Christmas.

Kristy is coming over for the weekend. That makes me happy. She is so sweet. Inside that sweetness is a passionate lover and that really makes me happy.

She loves to come over and build a fire in the fireplace and I love to cook for her. So, we snuggle up next to the fire and eat dinner. Then off to do what we love to do best in my bedroom. :)

I have so much to do tomorrow. I will bring my mini laptop (the one I use most) into the sewing room so I don't fall behind.

Oh my freakin' God

It has been snowing all day. It is 12 degrees. We are supposed to get 12-15" of snow tonight. BRRRRR!

My housekeeper came today and changed my sheets and did my laundry. She is worth every dime. So now I am huddled on my bed with my heaviest blankets. I have both of my computers on my bed; one on my lap and the other next to me on my bed.

I am excited that I found my cord for my camera so now I can take pics and then download to this computer.

The Halloween party was fun. I came home with a huge pumpkin. I had to bring it inside (I had it on the porch) or else it would freeze solid tonight.

OH OH OH!!! I just found out that Walmart sells caskets for $999.99-3,200.00 or if you are so inclined you could buy an urn for $25.00. Can you imagine?!?!

I must finish cleaning my sewing studio. I have one project that I only have two weeks to finish. Oh well. It will work out.

AAA-Choo!

I have been sneezing all day. ugh.

I was able to accomplish some of my goals today. I have go to the quilt store to get some more empty bolts.

I got my package from thousands of bolts. The fabric is amazing. And i got a package from Keepsake Quilting. I was bot expecting it because I actually forgot I ordered anything. LOL

I will post pictures soon. I have to find the usb cord for my camera.

Tomorrow there is going to be a Halloween party at the clubhouse I am a part of. I will be there a bit early so I am going to bring my bag of yo-yos and post cards so I can finish them up for Christmas. I will post pics when that cord shows up.

Tomorrow we are expecting 2-4 inches of snow. blech COLD COLD COLD!

Busy day tomorrow

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I have to go get blood drawn and then I am going to a clubhouse to do some artsy stuff. Then eat lunch and back home to do some serious organizing in my craft/sewing studio. I have a massive amount of fabric to put on bolts. It is so much easier to view what I have when all of the fabric is on bolts.

I do not do alot of sewing but I do buy alot of fabric. I found a site called thousands of bolts. When I started perusing the fabric I think I had an orgasm! hahahaha!! I have done some things with the fabric but not enough. Oh well. Some people collect books I collect fine fabric.

Aww

Well my gf just left. I already miss her. We had a romantic and passionate night. I so love her!

Sunday, October 25, 2009

Kristy, my gf, is here and she just made dinner for us. Nothing fancy (chili dogs) but it filled the belly.

We have been watching some tv while we ate.

My sisters birthday is coming up. She recently moved to Nebraska. I will send her a card but that is it because she is an addict and steals from everyone. grrr.

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

Oh damn

Mom is not coming over. Hopefully she will feel better soon.

What a day.

BRRRR

It is snowing again. I do believe we are headed right into winter.

Today is going to be a busy day. My mom is coming here and we are going to sew some candle mats for Christmas. Once those are done then I will be done with Christmas stuff. So wrapping is next after the sewing.

I am so glad I took the time and the money to get all that shopping done.

I am a bit frustrated because facebook is not working. ugh...

Take care all.

A new day

I have spent the day preparing to do some sewing tomorrow. My mother and sister are coming over to help too.

I am sewing for Christmas. I really like the idea of candle mats. They are 12 inch square quilts that you place a candle on. Some can be real country-like others are more contemporary. I think it is a good project for me because I don't have a lot of experience.

Now, my mom and sister are much more experienced and want to make table toppers. Sigh. We will see.

The weather is getting colder and colder. Ugh. Winter is here.

I hope all is well with everyone. I am learning how to use facebook and twitter. Be patient with me.

Take care.
